Michael Roddy, Conductor

Michael Roddy is a graduate of Nazareth University and Ithaca College, having studied choral conducting with Janet Galvan and Lawrence Doebler, in addition to vocal performance and music education. Prior to moving to Nova Scotia in 2022 Michael served as director of the College Singers at the State University of New York at Cortland, assistant director of the Mohawk Valley Choral Society, and as an elementary music specialist and choral clinician in Upstate New York. Michael is currently a music education specialist with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education and Halifax Regional Arts. As a singer, Michael has been a soloist with Mercury Opera Rochester, Opera Ithaca, Nazareth University Opera, the Mohawk Valley Choral Society, and Triphammer Arts.

Pamela Burton, Collaborative Pianist

A graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland, the University of Western Ontario and the University of Calgary, Pamela Burton is a Music Education Specialist with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, from which she has been awarded the Superintendent’s Award of Teaching Excellence. Classroom music, choral conducting and accompanying are her passions, and she actively pursues these roles in Nova Scotia. She has taught classroom music at John W. MacLeod Elementary School in Halifax for over twenty-five years and serves as Director of the Halifax Boys' Honour Choir. In addition, Pamela thoroughly enjoys accompanying the Dartmouth Choral Society, the Cantatrice Ensemble Honour Choir and the Halifax Youth Honour Choir. She has served on the national board of the Kodaly Society of Canada and is currently an active board member for the Kodaly Society of Nova Scotia, proudly promoting the Kodaly concept of music education.
